Scope and Contents Included in the folder is correspondence with James W.S. Langerman, Vice Consul-General of Morocco. Langerman went to great lengths to ensure the participation of Morocco at the Fair. Included in the file is further correspondence between Cridler and Langerman describing the situation in Morocco and further details regarding their business interests in the Congo. Cridler writes to "Jimmy" stating his "prospectus re the Congo business reads splendidly."

Scope and Contents The largest group of correspondence in the collection relates to Russia. Cridler waged an extensive diplomatic campaign to ensure Russian participation at the Fair. On one occasion he describes his three weeks in St. Petersburg as "frequently trying." The Russian government eventually agreed to appoint Serge Alexandrovsky as Russian Commissioner General and committed to "arranging an excellent exhibit."
